At Borås Wäfveri, we care about the environment and take responsibility for it. In addition to an environmental policy, we are now able to offer entirely organic products.
Environmental efforts is an integral part of our activities which means that
• demands laid down in laws and regulations shall not only be met, but exceeded whenever possible.
• all changes made shall contribute to environmental aspects as well as to a profitable development.
• production and products development shall be guidelined by a broad ecological perspective.
• Open and accurate information shall be maintained between company, employees and other parties concerned. A large part of our product range is certified according to Öko-tex standard 100.
Our production facility in Narva, Estonia, do not use any chemicals containing Nonylphenol or Nonylphenoletoxylate, according to limits for chemicals used for textile in EU (directive 2003/53/EG).
 
Borås Wäfveri Group – Code of Conduct
The textile finishing takes place in Europe, mostly in our own production facilities Krenholm, situated in Estonia.
In our own production, as well as when buying raw material, BW protects good terms of employment for the people involved in different steps of the process.
Krenholm is following European and Estonian laws regarding terms of employment. Collective labour contracts have been signed between the different parties of the labour market.
When decided that more semi finished products, such as grey cloth, should be traded from outside of Europe, BW has intensified the work to assure good working conditions regarding production of the traded products for our production and have worked out a Code of Conduct for the company.
The Code of Conduct is founded on the UN convention of the rights of children that the UN International Labour Organisation, ILO, are working for regarding terms of employment and labour rights. The Code of Conduct deals with issues such as child labour, discrimination, working hours, salary, working conditions and the right to form and join trade unions.
